Bueno trabajo, Costa Rica!  They have elected this country's first female President, Laura Chinchilla.

Did you know Costa Rica doesn't even have an army?  Abolished in 1949.

France is selling arms to Russia.  How interesting since France is a part of NATO.  Russia is still continuing to big arm the country of Georgia, which then leaves the "savior" country U.S. to start asking questions..hmmm

Thought this was kinda interesting from MoveOn.org.  I am not sure of the authenticity of this "ransom note", but nonetheless it brought my attention.  Recently, President Obama invited the Republican party to a televised open discussion on health care once again in response to their request for a discussion.  I am pretty sure the response was not to the least open.  As we all remember the last time open televised discussion which allowed them to ask him questions, did not make the Republicans looks so "smart."

Dr. Bernard Anthony Harris, Jr., the first African-American towalk in space (first to fly into space is Guion S. Bluford, Jr. on Challenger in '83) has been offering FREE two-week science camp programs at selected universities around the country, some of which are HBCUs.  Pulling back to the community as well all should in some way....Reading about this definitely was a personal boost of encouragement.  The importance of mathematics and science is definitely losing it's niche in education.

Haiti debt forgiven

It has now been stated, by all nation-members of the G7, that any debt owed by Haiti is forgiven.

Yeah I would think, France, part of the G7 would not be so ruthless and say they are still owed by a people they once enslaved and made the Haitians pay for their own freedom.

Actually, I wanted to write a good amount for this post but you know what?....there is plenty of information out there on the history of this country and other countries that have been treated just as horribly but I will continue to bring to light any injustice that I can possibly take the time to share.

Serena Williams adds yet another tennis tournament title to her extensive list.  Ms. Williams won the 2010 Australian Open through some growling painful matches...I see you champ!

So yeah, I know Obama's most recent State of the Union Address seems like ages ago but I want to mention something in particular about Obama claiming that "the flood gates will open" on a supreme court decision.  Pretty much right now U.S. corporation have a loop hole to give unlimited contributions to political campaigns.
